Each year the pupil council meets twice a term to give children a voice and decision making role, within the school. The older children in the Barkley Class act as Chairman and Secretary for each of the four groups which are this year named after colours, Red, Blue, Green and Yellow. Agenda items are gathered in each class and brought along for discussion.
On one occasion, children used the pupil council time to share their understanding of the ways in which we should always aim to support and respect everyone else in school. The children have a voice in deciding which charities the school should support. The Barkley Class is supporting Water Aid and funding their support through a twice monthly tuck shop in the schools.
There are always lots of exciting ideas that originate from these meetings.
